The gift of creativity started at a young age. Sandra enjoys painting in acrylics, watercolor, and oils. The hunger to learn different mediums makes her a multimedia artist. She keeps a record of her ideas in a sketchbook which laters become paintings.
Sandra loves to experiment with different mediums. If there is some new technique, she will learn it through classes or reading a book. Sandra is an avid reader. A lover of murder mysteries, how to books, cook books, artists and art history.
Sandra grew up in the remote country of New Mexico. She was exposed to mesas, pinon trees and mountains. Her paternal and maternal family are rug weavers. Being around weavings, helped in creating rug designs that become part of paintings. Alot of the rug designs are found on the bodies of her deities.
Sandra attended the Institute of American Indian Arts for Studio Art: 2-D and Museum Studies in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
