Barbara(Bobbi) Emerson-Kitsman is a Navajo artist now living and painting on the Navajo reservation in Northeastern New Mexico. She works out of her home in Tohatchi, New Mexico, consistently traveling around the reservation to find the locations she paints on site. An oil painter, Barbara also continues her work in watercolor, pastel, pencil and charcoal as well as her passion of printmaking. Among her collection of large and small oils are a vast and ever changing collection of prints including monotypes, etch[ngs, embossings, lithographs, serigraphhs, wood cuts and linoleum cuts. An artist since the age of seven, Barbara has studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts and the University of Colorado and the University of New Mexico.
